Basketball Recap: Greenville Christian Takes a Loss

Greenville Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Wylie Prep Academy Patriots, falling 70-30. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-35 back in December of 2024.

Wylie Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily True led the charge by putting up eight points and 11 boards. True is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Abby True was another key player, posting five points and eight rebounds.

Greenville Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Wylie Prep Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Greenville Christian will face off against Providence Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 10th. Providence Academy will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Greenville Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wylie Prep Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-25 win against Covenant on the 3rd.
