Football Game Preview: Stratton Eagles vs. Flagler Panthers

The Stratton Eagles will square off against the Flagler Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stratton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Stratton put the hurt on Walsh with a sharp 26-6 win. Considering Stratton has won seven games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Stratton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Drew Fox, who rushed for 123 yards and one score, and Von Isenbart, who threw for 106 yards and one touchdown. Isenbart also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles (1.5 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Stratton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isenbart and Gavin Ruhs.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-19, which was the final score in Flagler's tilt against Sierra Grande on Saturday.

Although Flagler took the loss, they still got scores from Adrea Castenls, Brayden Hill, and Keegan Isenbart.

Flagler's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Stratton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Stratton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 192.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Flagler struggles in that department as they've been averaging 199.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
