Baseball Recap: St. Louis Homeschool P's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

St. Louis HomeSchool P had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They never let Middle Tennessee Monarchs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Samuel Hart's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Louis HomeSchool P is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 11-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Vinny Tornatore, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Ben Janssen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

St. Louis HomeSchool P pushed their record up to 18-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Middle Tennessee Monarchs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-18 record this season.

St. Louis HomeSchool P will take on Wake County HomeSchool in a tournament on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Middle Tennessee Monarchs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
