Recap: Shoals Jug Rox vs. Vincennes Lincoln Alices
The Shoals Jug Rox's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Vincennes Lincoln 56-29. Shoals lost against Vincennes Lincoln in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-54 score last time.
Vincennes Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Clegg, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals. Clegg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Sanders, who scored 13 points.
Shoals' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shoals won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Loogootee at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th. Loogootee presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Shoals in Indiana (Loogootee is ranked 11th, while Shoals is ranked 310th). Vincennes Lincoln will be home for the holidays to greet Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Vincennes Lincoln likes a good challenge.
