Basketball Recap: Mayville Takes a Loss

Mayville lost against North Huron back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mayville Wildcats took a blow against the North Huron Warriors, falling 43-11. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Huron's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ana Champagne, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Champagne is becoming a predictor of North Huron's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 10-3 (and 1-4 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Schornack, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Mayville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for North Huron, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

Mayville has already played their next matchup (against Kingston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for North Huron, they will challenge Peck at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Huron is facing Peck at the right time seeing as Peck is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
