Baseball Game Preview: West Carroll War Eagles vs. Haywood Tomcats

The West Carroll War Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Haywood Tomcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Carroll managed to slip by Clarksburg the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The War Eagles lost 12-2 to the Rockets on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 24 runs in the game before, the War Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

J.W. Rushing was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Haywood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against South Gibson, falling 15-0.

Haywood's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for West Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

West Carroll was able to grind out a solid win over Haywood in their previous meeting last Wednesday, winning 8-5. Will the War Eagles repeat their success, or do the Tomcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
