Basketball Game Preview: Conway Tigers vs. Fort Dorchester Patriots

The Conway Tigers will take on the Fort Dorchester Patriots in a holiday battle at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Conway will be strutting in after a win while Fort Dorchester will be coming in after a defeat.

Conway took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Franklin County by a score of 58-51.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Fort Dorchester's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goose Creek. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Conway will need to focus on slowing down Maricious Dawson, one of several Fort Dorchester players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of DeOndre Haynes, who posted ten points and five steals.

Conway pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games. As for Fort Dorchester, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
