Baseball Game Preview: Waterloo West Wahawks vs. Western Dubuque Bobcats

Waterloo West hasn't had much luck against Western Dubuque recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wahawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Waterloo West's last matchup with Iowa City West could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Wahawks lost 11-1 to the Trojans. The Wahawks' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Western Dubuque fell victim to Bettendorf and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 15-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bobcats have suffered since June 24, 2024.

Western Dubuque has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Waterloo West, their loss dropped their record down to 3-22.
