Huntsville star ends recruitment during Wednesday press conference.

Shooting guard Trevor Lacey, the last available five-star prospect in MaxPreps.com's Class of 2011 Top 100, ended his recruitment Wednesday by picking the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Lacey averaged 31.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.1 steals and 2.6 assists per game as a senior to help Butler (Huntsville) go 32-2 and capture its third state title in four years. The Rebels went 115-17 during his four seasons with the program.

"He's been a winner for four years here and a great player, but an even better person," Butler head coach Jack Doss said. "He had a chance to lead us to four state titles and hurt his knee as a junior."

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound shooting guard is the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2012 class and picked the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Kansas and Kentucky. He appeared to sign his letter of intent during the ceremony at Butler.

Other prospects come with more upside, but few accomplished as much at the high school level. Lacey earned a spot on MaxPreps.com's All-American Team first team as a senior alongside highly-touted stars like Brad Beal (No. 4 overall prospect), Michael Gilchrist (No. 3) and AAU teammate Austin Rivers (No. 2).

"He was the (state) MVP over DeMarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe as a sophomore. That says a lot," Doss said. "He has been like a son to me."

Lacey joins a Crimson Tide recruiting class that includes in-state wings Levi Randolph and Rodney Cooper, Georgia forward Nick Jacobs and junior college center Moussa Gueye. The group was rated the No. 17 recruiting class nationally prior to his decision.

With Lacey's announcement out of the way, the only Top 100 senior that remains undecided is No. 19 DeAndre Daniels of IMG Academies (Bradenton, Fla.) by way of Los Angeles.
