Basketball Game Preview: Erie Red Devils vs. Northeast Vikings

The Erie Red Devils will face off against the Northeast Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Erie is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Erie might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 43-27 to Jayhawk Linn, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jacksen Powell, who posted five points and 11 boards. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Northeast was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 44-39 to Crest. The Vikings have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Erie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Erie lost to Northeast at home by a decisive 55-37 margin when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Erie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
