Basketball Recap: Largo Skates Past Tarpon Springs with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Largo's strategy against Tarpon Springs on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Largo Packers blew the Tarpon Springs Spongers out of the water with a 46-9 final score. Largo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ana Leka, who posted six points along with seven boards and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Leka a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amel Wright, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Largo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Largo's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-8. As for Tarpon Springs, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9.
