Basketball Game Preview: Seguin Cougars vs. South Hills Scorpions

The Seguin Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the South Hills Scorpions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seguin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully South Hills likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Seguin took their match with ease, bagging a 69-42 victory over Cleburne. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They pulled ahead with a 38-37 photo finish over Polytechnic on Tuesday.

South Hills' win came from a few key players Seguin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Javeon Flemings, who posted 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ra'Monce Spriggins, who scored seven points and ten rebounds.

South Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-21 record this season. As for Seguin, their record is now 20-15.

Everything came up roses for Seguin against South Hills when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 72-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seguin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
