Recap: Grayslake Central Rams vs. North Catholic Trojans
Grayslake Central had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the North Catholic Trojans by a score of 6-4 on Saturday.
Grayslake Central got a good showing from Jadon Dumas, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks).
On the hitting side, Jacob Rand was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run. Another player making a difference was Jerry Miller, who got no hits from his three at bats.
On North Catholic's side, Landon Eifler looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Josef Safar was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with a triple, a run, and an RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Primrose, who went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
The win made it two in a row for North Catholic and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Grayslake Central will challenge Riverdale Country at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday. As for North Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against Pine-Richland at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
