Volleyball Recap: Nathan Dana and Colsen Neal Secure Win for Crimson Cliffs

Crimson Cliffs posted their closest victory since March 8th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Desert Hills Thunder, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Thunder back in March, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Crimson Cliffs who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 24-26, 25-18, 24-26, 15-12.

Crimson Cliffs was led to victory by Colsen Neal and Nathan Dana. Neal had 20 digs and two assists, while Dana had 28 assists and seven digs. Those 28 assists gave Dana a new career-high. Garrett Campbell also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

James Candland and Jordan Jensen certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Candland had 14 assists and six digs, while Jensen had nine kills, four digs, three blocks, and two aces. Jensen is crushing it when it comes to aces: he's served at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Crimson Cliffs has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Desert Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Crimson Cliffs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Pine View on the 15th. As for Desert Hills, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Dixie on the 15th.
