Football Recap: New Diana Takes a Loss

New Diana was the 56-14 winner over Gladewater when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles were beaten by the Bears 43-15 on Friday.

Gladewater was led to victory by Carsin Cooper and Achilles Hess. Cooper rushed for 146 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries, while Hess rushed for 46 yards and one TD. Those 146 rushing yards gave Cooper a new career-high.

New Diana's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Gladewater, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, New Diana will head out on the road to take on Sabine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gladewater, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against West Rusk at 7:00 p.m.
