Soccer Game Preview: Ligonier Valley vs. Greensburg Salem

The Ligonier Valley Rams will head out on the road to take on the Greensburg Salem Golden Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Greensburg Salem took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ligonier Valley, who comes in off a win.

Ligonier Valley will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals two weeks ago, then bounced right back against South Allegheny on Thursday. The Rams blew past the Gladiators 5-2. Ligonier Valley haven't had any issues with South Allegheny recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Greensburg Salem scored the most goals they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 7-3 to Charleroi. Benny Kimmel probably wasn't too happy after the match: he scored every single goal for Greensburg Salem and still walked away on the losing team.

This is the second loss in a row for Greensburg Salem and nudges their season record down to 0-3-1. As for Ligonier Valley, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Ligonier Valley's way against Greensburg Salem when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as Ligonier Valley made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
