Softball Game Preview: Homewood-Flossmoor Vikings vs. Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers

Homewood-Flossmoor hasn't had much luck against Bradley-Bourbonnais recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will square off against the Boilermakers at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Richards hit Homewood-Flossmoor with a five-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Izzy Thurman put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Thurman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Skylar Skinner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Bradley-Bourbonnais didn't have quite enough to beat Yorkville on Saturday and fell 3-2.

Bradley-Bourbonnais saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Woolman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Homewood-Flossmoor now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Homewood-Flossmoor might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Bradley-Bourbonnais in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
