Baseball Recap: Westwood Patriots vs. Wright Red Devils
Sadly, Westwood is still looking for their first win of the season after four games. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wright Red Devils on Friday. One positive for Westwood, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
For Wright's part, Madden Sommer was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Delwyn Westeen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wright, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Negaunee at 4:00 p.m. on May 2nd. As for Wright, they will head out on the road to challenge Lake Linden-Hubbell at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wright is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
