Basketball Recap: Glenvar Comes Up Short

Glenvar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 30th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Hidden Valley Titans and fell 53-21. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Titans are ranked 151st).

Avery Tanis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hidden Valley, going 8 of 15 en route to 22 points and five steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Tanis has scored at least a third of Hidden Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Pearson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Glenvar's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Hidden Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Glenvar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-13 loss against Patrick County on the 13th. Hidden Valley has also already played their next contest, a 52-45 win against William Byrd on the 13th.
