Volleyball Recap: Assumption Takes Down Ranked Holy Cross

Assumption faced Holy Cross in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Rockets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars. The Rockets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 3rd (when they won 3-0).

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-16.

Ella Askin paced Assumption's offense, picking up 14 kills. Askin got some help from Jillian Bohannon and her 25 assists. Taylor Price controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Assumption, bringing their record up to 27-4. As for Holy Cross, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-8 record this season.

Assumption will host Mercy at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holy Cross, they will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
