Basketball Recap: Block Island Takes a Loss

Block Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 85-26 loss at the hands of the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights. Block Island lost against Exeter-West Greenwich in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 60-32 score last time.

Block Island's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

When Block Island and Exeter-West Greenwich next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Block Island will try to stop Prout's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Exeter-West Greenwich will challenge Ponaganset and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
