Basketball Game Preview: Beauregard Hornets vs. LAMP Golden Tigers

The Beauregard Hornets will venture away from home to take on the LAMP Golden Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Beauregard is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Friday, Beauregard was able to grind out a solid victory over Reeltown, taking the game 33-22.

Beauregard's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lindsey Moulton, who went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Lay Clark, who posted five points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Moulton is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Beauregard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LAMP). They secured a 41-36 W over Victory Christian on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Golden Tigers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Beauregard's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points per game. As for LAMP, their record is now 2-10.

Everything came up roses for Beauregard against LAMP in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 39-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Beauregard since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
