Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Hallettsville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 9-1 to the Jourdanton Indians/Squaws on Thursday. The Brahmas' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Hallettsville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlynn Halata, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Hallettsville's loss dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Jourdanton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-13 record this season.

While Hallettsville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
