Football Recap: Camden Piles Up the Points Against Lenape

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Camden brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past the Lenape Indians 48-14 on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Ahmad Jones was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 261 yards and four TDs while completing 89.5% of his passes. Ah'Zeir Pagan was another key player, picking up 47 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Camden's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. Leading the way was Jerome Foster with two sacks. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Talib Shakir got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Camden is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Lenape, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Camden will challenge rival Eastside at 11:00 a.m. on November 27. Meanwhile, Lenape is set to face off against their familiar foe Rancocas Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
