Baseball Game Preview: Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs vs. Cedar Key Sharks

The Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Cedar Key Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meadowbrook Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Meadowbrook Academy came up short against Countryside Christian on Thursday, falling 18-9.

Gaige Daugherty was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-3. ZACH ROSS was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Cedar Key lost 18-7 to St. John Lutheran on Monday. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meadowbrook Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cedar Key, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Everything went Meadowbrook Academy's way against Cedar Key in their previous meeting back in March of 2019, as Meadowbrook Academy made off with a 19-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meadowbrook Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
