Football Recap: Suitland Takes a Loss

Suitland and Flowers squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Suitland had to settle for second. They were dealt a 34-6 defeat at the hands of the Jaguars. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flowers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kodi Gardner, who rushed for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gardner was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Damieon Butler, who rushed for 28 yards and one score.

Suitland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Flowers, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Suitland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flowers, they will venture away from home to face off against Eleanor Roosevelt at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Raiders' defense has only allowed 10.9 points per game this season, so the Jaguars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
