Basketball Recap: McKinley Takes a Loss

McKinley suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2024 on Monday. They were dealt a 67-34 defeat at the hands of the Brush Arcs. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Arcs are ranked 27th).

Despite the loss, McKinley had strong showings from Mya Taylor, who went 7 for 17 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds, and Janya Jeter, who posted four points. The contest was Taylor's seventh in a row with at least ten points.

McKinley's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Brush, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

McKinley will head out to take on Green at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Green will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something McKinley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brush, they will take on Shaw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
