Soccer Game Preview: Dawson vs. Sam Rayburn

The Dawson Eagles will head out to challenge the Sam Rayburn Texans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dawson's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Dawson is headed into the match having not lost since January 20 and will look to keep things rolling. They and South Houston finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Dawson's goal came courtesy of Gavin Rieger, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Sam Rayburn sidestepped Manvel for a 2-1 win. The victory continues a trend for Sam Rayburn in their matchups with Manvel: they've now won four in a row.

Sam Rayburn's win bumped their record up to 4-5-5. Dawson's draw makes their record 7-2-10 this season.

Dawson beat Sam Rayburn by a goal in their previous matchup back in January, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
