Football Game Preview: Troy Warriors vs. El Toro Chargers + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Ethan Mundt and Makya Chee are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Troy Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the El Toro Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Troy comes in on seven and El Toro on four.

While Troy's victory against Irvine wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over the Vaqueros on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Vaqueros are ranked 264th).

Meanwhile, El Toro humbled Santa Ana with a 54-7 victory. That looming 54-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chargers yet this season.

Troy better keep an eye on Wyatt Nucci. He was instrumental in El Toro's win, throwing for 319 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes. Nucci's passing game has become a key predictor of the Chargers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Troy's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for El Toro, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Troy strolled past El Toro in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 42-24. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
