Basketball Recap: Francesca Svizzero's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Douglass over Varsity Opponent

If Douglass was feeling good fresh off their 84-16 takedown of College Park Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Douglass Eagles fell to Varsity Opponent 44-40.

Douglass lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Francesca Svizzero, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 15 points. Naiy'Lah Crutchfield was another key player, putting up six points along with 11 boards and seven blocks.

Douglass now has a losing record at 1-2.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Douglass Eagles duke it out with the Central Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Varsity Opponent will take on American History in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
