Baseball Recap: University Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Preston Knights by a score of 4-1 on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-8 on Wednesday.

Daniel Grabo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Jacob Kennison looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Brance McCune was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

University's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-12. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Preston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10-1 record this season.
