Basketball Recap: Port Washington Vikings vs. Academy Charter
The Port Washington Vikings waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They breezed by Academy Charter at home to the tune of 71-39. Port Washington has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season.
When it comes to explaining why Academy Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jovani Dorismond. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dorismond has scored all season. Joel Beard was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Port Washington pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Academy Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Port Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Academy Charter will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m.
