Basketball Game Preview: Fieldcrest Knights vs. Normal University Pioneers

The Fieldcrest Knights will square off against the Normal University Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Thursday, Fieldcrest ended up a good deal behind Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and lost 61-47. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Falcons are ranked 128th).

Meanwhile, Normal University escaped with a win on Saturday against Lanphier by the margin of a single free throw, 42-41. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Fieldcrest's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-13. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for Normal University, their victory bumped their record up to 10-18.
