Basketball Recap: Earlville Takes a Loss

If Earlville was riding high fresh off their 47-21 takedown of Alden-Hebron last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Earlville Red Raiders lost to the Somonauk/Leland Bobcats on the road by a 47-29 margin on Thursday. The Red Raiders have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Earlville saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addie Scherer posted nine points and six boards.

Earlville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Somonauk/Leland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-15 record this season.

Earlville has already played their next game, a 61-27 loss against Serena on the 3rd. As for Somonauk/Leland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-35 defeat against Streator on the 1st.
