Mary Persons will be up against a hot Sandy Creek squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. The Patriots breezed past Whitewater to the tune of 62-21 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Patriots' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Wildcats are ranked 147th).

Amari Latimer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 287 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 15.1 yards per carry. Those 287 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Caleb Hill was another key player, throwing for 153 yards and a pair of TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sandy Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 356 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Mary Persons owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 26-0 margin over Spalding. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Sandy Creek better keep an eye on CJ Banks. He was instrumental in Mary Persons' win, rushing for 108 yards and three scores. With that strong performance, Banks is now averaging an impressive 100.5 rushing yards per game.
Mary Persons didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Deaven Davis, Sam Harrell, and Jarvis Holloway picked up one apiece. That interception marked the first that Harrell has snagged this season.
Sandy Creek's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Mary Persons, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
