Baseball Recap: Evadale Comes Up Short

Evadale suffered their closest loss since May 10, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Kirbyville Wildcats by a score of 4-2. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Evadale saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Hubbard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Evadale's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Kirbyville, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Evadale didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 defeat against East Chambers on the 7th. As for Kirbyville, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Buna on the 11th.
