Basketball Recap: Appleton North Comes Up Short

After flying high against Appleton West last Tuesday, Appleton North came back down to earth. The Appleton North Lightning fell 57-49 to the Oshkosh West Wildcats on Friday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-44 back in December of 2024.

Appleton North has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Oshkosh West, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kimberly the next time they take the court. Oshkosh West will head out to face Kimberly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Appleton North will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
