Riverdale came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 44-40 win over the Van Buren Black Knights. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Black Knights are ranked 524th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverdale is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Van Buren, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale will welcome Perry at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van Buren, they will host Eastwood at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
