Basketball Game Preview: Harlandale Indians vs. MacArthur Brahmas

The Harlandale Indians will challenge the MacArthur Brahmas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Harlandale turned things around against South San Antonio on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bobcats as they made off with a 56-35 win.

Meanwhile, MacArthur waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 55-21 victory over the Jaguars. The Brahmas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

MacArthur's win came from a few key players Harlandale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ellie Lee, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave her a new career-high. Faith Thomas was another key player, going 6 for 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

MacArthur has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Harlandale, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-13.

Harlandale took a serious blow against MacArthur in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 75-28. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lee, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds.
