Basketball Game Preview: Tripoli Panthers vs. Riceville Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Tripoli Panthers face off against the Riceville Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday... The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Tripoli has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Riceville will arrive with 13 straight wins.

Last Friday, Tripoli was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-34 to Don Bosco.

Meanwhile, Riceville beat Dunkerton 49-41 on Friday.

Riceville's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Tripoli, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Tripoli was taken down by Riceville 71-23 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Tripoli avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
