Basketball Recap: Dusable Extends Winning Streak to Five

DuSable came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 47.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Woodlawn Warriors as they made off with a 59-36 win. The Panthers pushed the score to 52-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

DuSable was led to victory by Tyshawn Burns and Jesse Suggs. Burns posted 20 points, while Suggs scored 19 points. The contest was Suggs' fifth in a row with at least 17 points.

DuSable's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Woodlawn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

DuSable will square off against Normal West at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodlawn, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Solorio at 5:00 p.m. on February 3.
