Preview: Crystal City vs. Hayti
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Hayti. They and Crystal City go head to head on Friday at 7:00 PM in their first playoff game of the year. Hayti have bulldozed their previous nine opponents, so Crystal City might have their hands full.
Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Crystal City, but their most recent contest may have softened the blow. They were able to grind out a solid victory over Grandview last Friday, winning 27-20.
Meanwhile, Hayti brought a eight-game winning streak into their match against Portageville last Friday; they left with a nine-game streak. Hayti took the matchup and then some with a 60-0 win over Portageville. Fans of Hayti have seen this all before: every one of Hayti's games this year has ended as a stomp.
Crystal City took a serious blow against Hayti the last time the two teams met, falling 0-58. The defeat knocked Crystal City out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at Hayti with a vengeful fire.
