League recap: In 1 vs. 2 face-off, Lancaster takes down Orchard Park

The league's top two teams in the standings locked horns this week, as Lancaster took home a 4-1 victory over Orchard Park on Thursday. Orchard Park leads Section 6 Erie County I with an 11-3 record, and has an overall record of 15-4.

Lancaster (13-4, 11-3) has won six games in a row, the league's longest active win streak. The streak was extended by another four games over the past week, including a 4-1 victory over Orchard Park and a 9-2 win over Jamestown.

Frontier boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Falcons' pitchers have been charged with only 94 hits and have struck out 119 batters. Steve Dziak is tops on the staff with 50 Ks.

Frontier racked up a league-leading 118 hits this week, bringing its total to 118 on the year, also tops in the league. Mac Zeis has a team-high 19 hits on the season for fourth-place the Falcons, which went 1-1 this week.
