Soccer Game Preview: Jackson vs. Pike County

Jackson hasn't had much luck against Pike County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Devils will face off against the Pirates at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Jackson took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Rutland get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Jackson in their matchups with Rutland: they've now won four in a row.

Jackson's offense was hitting Rutland from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Sam Watson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pike County). They blew past Westside 11-0 on Friday. Pike County's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three contests.

Pike County's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Jackson, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Jackson came out on top in a nail-biter against Pike County in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
