Baseball Recap: Grand Prairie Takes a Loss

Grand Prairie had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-21 to make it 15. They came up short against the Lamar Vikings, falling 11-2. The Gophers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Grand Prairie saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Peoples, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Peoples has hit this season.

As for Lamar, their record is now 12-16-2. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

On Lamar's side, they let Logan Archibald and Jacob Greco run wild. Archibald went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Greco went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Greco has posted since back in February. Jaxon Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

While Grand Prairie had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
