Soccer Game Preview: Independence vs. Vardaman

Independence hasn't had much luck against Vardaman recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Independence has given up an average of 5.1 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Independence's offense. They came up short against Strayhorn on Thursday, falling 7-0. That's two games in a row now that Independence have lost by exactly seven goals.

Meanwhile, Vardaman didn't have quite enough to beat Strayhorn on Monday and fell 4-3.

Vardaman's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Independence suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Vardaman in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
