Softball Recap: Dwight Comes Up Short

Dwight fell victim to Seneca and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 11-0 to the Fighting Irish. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Fighting Irish recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Averi Jury spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and nine unearned) runs on 11 hits.

Dwight's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Seneca, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 21-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dwight will host Midland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Seneca, they will be playing at home against Coal City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
