Football Recap: West Forsyth Comes Up Short

If West Forsyth was riding high fresh off their 49-21 takedown of Mount Tabor last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans fell 36-30 to the Richmond Senior Raiders on Friday. The Titans gained 144 more yards on the day, but it was the Raiders that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, West Forsyth still got an impressive performance from Mozes Morris, who rushed for 215 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Morris' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 rushing yards. Another back making a difference was Darell Paige, who gained 53 total yards and two touchdowns.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Richmond Senior, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

After each having a week off, West Forsyth and East Forsyth will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Titans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Richmond Senior, they will square off against Pine Forest at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Raiders will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
