Basketball Recap: Elite Beats Sacramento Waldorf for Their Fifth Straight Win

Elite meant business on Friday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Waves squad that has allowed just 27.08 points per contest. The Elite Eagles blew past the Sacramento Waldorf Waves 57-32. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Elite had a senior duo take command as Amir Goss posted 15 points and Joe Cooper almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. The contest was Goss' third in a row with at least ten points. Chamari Urrutia was another key player, putting up eight points.

Elite was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sacramento Waldorf only racked up six assists.

Several Waves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Liam Mason Melberg, who put up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Liam Aldwinckle, who had four points.

The win was the fifth in a row for Elite, bringing their record for this year to 9-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.4 points per game. As for Sacramento Waldorf, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

Elite wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 76-56 victory against Johnson on the 21st. Sacramento Waldorf and Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Sacramento Waldorf is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
