Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Beats Imagine Prep Superstition for Their 12th Straight Victory

Heritage Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Imagine Prep Superstition Panthers a 24-0 shutout. Give the Heroes' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Cadence Baugher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

In other pitching news, Kenia Martin looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero).

Back at the plate, Maya Zappa was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Jordyn Taylor was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs.

Heritage Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .818. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Heritage Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Imagine Prep Superstition, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will take on Ridgeline Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Imagine Prep Superstition, they will challenge Maricopa Institute of Technology at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
